What each mode does differently
All ten modes share the same FFmpeg backbone on the worker, but each has tuned parameters:
- Convert — MP3/M4A/WAV/FLAC/OGG targets with codec-appropriate quality mapping.
- Compress — perceptual bitrate ladder aimed at voice vs music, not a naive resample.
- Trim — millisecond-accurate cuts re-encoding only the affected neighborhood.
- Volume — linear gain plus optional peak normalization to −1 dBTP.
- Silence remove — threshold + hold time suppress pauses over 1.5 s without clipping word tails.
- Speed — atempo time-stretch preserves pitch within 0.5×–2.0×.
- Fade / Reverse / Loop — PCM-exact curve shapes (linear, exp), sample-accurate reversal, loop count up to 10.
- Waveform — PNG visualization with custom colors, sized for show notes and episode art.
