What is my Kua (本命卦) number?⌄

In Eight Mansions Feng Shui, your Kua is a number from 1–9 (never 5) derived from your birth year (adjusted for 立春, the solar new year) and gender. It splits people into East-4 lives (Kua 1,3,4,9) and West-4 lives (Kua 2,6,7,8), each with four lucky and four unlucky directions.

What do the eight directions mean?⌄

Each direction carries one of eight 游年 stars. The four good ones are 生气 (best — vitality & success), 天医 (health), 延年 (relationships & longevity) and 伏位 (stability). The four to avoid are 绝命 (worst), 五鬼 (conflict), 六煞 (setbacks) and 祸害 (mishaps). Face and sleep toward the good ones.

How do I use this at home?⌄

Position your bed and your desk so your head/face points to your 生气 or 天医 direction; put your front door and most-used rooms in auspicious sectors; and keep bathrooms/storage in the inauspicious ones. The AI reading gives you specific placements for your Kua.

Is the calculation accurate?⌄

Yes — the Kua is computed with the standard formula (validated against known examples) and 立春-adjusted, and the direction map follows the classical Eight Mansions table (East-4 lives get exactly N/S/E/SE as lucky, West-4 get NE/SW/W/NW). The AI only interprets; it does not change the numbers.

What is Feng Shui (Eight Mansions)?

Feng Shui (风水), "wind and water", is the ancient Chinese art of arranging spaces to harmonize with qi (气, life energy). The Eight Mansions school (八宅派) divides people into East and West Groups based on their personal Kua number (命卦), calculated from birth year and gender. Each group has four auspicious and four inauspicious directions.

Every direction has a quality: Sheng Qi (生气) for prosperity, Tian Yi (天医) for health, Yan Nian (延年) for relationships, Fu Wei (伏位) for stability. On the inauspicious side, Jue Ming (绝命) is the most severe. Treat Feng Shui as environmental psychology with a traditional framework for making intentional choices about your spaces.
