How to Read a 7-Day Forecast
A seven-day forecast is not a promise — it is a probability landscape. The first two days are driven by directly observed atmosphere and are usually accurate to within a degree or two. Days three to five blend observations with model physics, so treat the trend (warming? wetter?) as more trustworthy than any single number. Beyond day five, large-scale patterns dominate: useful for planning whether a front arrives this weekend, less useful for pinning down the exact afternoon hour.

Making the numbers useful
"Feels like" temperature combines wind chill and humidity stress and is usually the number your body cares about. UV index matters most between mid-morning and mid-afternoon; above 8, shade and sunscreen stop being optional. And when the precipitation tile shows millimeters, remember 1 mm is a light sprinkle while 10+ mm in an hour is a genuine downpour.
Where the numbers come from
- Data: Open-Meteo forecast API (best-member consensus of national models), updated about hourly.
- The header group maps the WMO weather code reported for each hour and day.
- Coordinates are rounded to ~5 km before lookup so nearby users share one cached answer.
- Sunrise/sunset times shown per day come straight from the model's astronomy block in the location's own timezone.
