How AI watermark removal actually works
This tool runs a VPS-side inpainting pass: you brush the region, the mask is sent with the image, and a diffusion-based model fills the hole by sampling context — sky behind a corner logo, skin under a timestamp, water ripples under a signature.
- Best candidates — semi-transparent watermarks, small static logos, date stamps on fairly uniform backgrounds.
- Weak spots — large opaque overlays covering faces or text; the model must invent too much and results look soft.
- Honesty note — the page states plainly that complex cases may need manual retouching; credits are refunded automatically whenever a job fails outright.
Typical turnaround is 10–30 seconds depending on resolution; output keeps the original dimensions and is returned as PNG.
Frequently asked questions
Will the watermark disappear completely?
On even backgrounds (sky, water, plain walls, bokeh) the fill is usually invisible. On busy backgrounds — faces, dense text, repeating patterns — reconstruction is genuinely hard and traces may remain. We'd rather tell you that upfront than promise magic.
Is it legal to remove watermarks?
Only edit images you own or have permission to edit — e.g. cleaning a date stamp off your own photo, or removing your own logo from an old export. Removing another creator's watermark to reuse their work violates copyright, and this tool must not be used for that.
How do I get the best result?
Draw boxes as tight around the mark as possible, split large watermarks into several small boxes, and prefer high-resolution originals. If a trace remains, run the result through again with a small box over the leftover.
Is removing a watermark legal?
Only for content you own or have rights to — your own drafts with an old logo, stock previews you licensed, family photos stamped by old software. Stripping protection from someone else's copyrighted work violates both the law and our terms.
